Second Grade Writing
The second graders in our class are blossoming into amazing writers! We are so impressed with their progress and skill at producing great pieces of writing. Our writing process is structured to help guide students into independent writing. We focus on using transitions to create sentence flow, self-editing, and neat and legible handwriting. The students are pushed to always do their best and produce quality work. Published work will be displayed outside our door. Please come and enjoy your child's work.


These are our Office Folders:
Whenever working on writing, the students go and get an office as a reference for quality writing. It has the correct spelling of high-frequency words, moving the story along connectors, opener words, transition words, and closing words or statements. The office also has alphabet strips that have arrows to demonstrate the drawing of each letter.
Types of writing you will see this year are personal narrative, expository, research, persuasive, and literary analysis.
We are now finishing researching topics for the next non-fiction piece of writing. The students have been using the ipads. They have chosen some wonderful titles and headers. Can hardly wait to display these wonderful published books.
